Vibro-phonic recordings is pleased to announce the latest release by the jigsaw seen. Perfformiad I Mewn Cymru (Permance in Wales) is a limited edition 6 song acoustic EP recorded on their 2001 Spring tour of the UK. The tracks were recorded live from soundboard (direct to DAT) at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff and the Patti Pavillion in Swansea. Selections include 3 songs from the band's Grammy nominated album Zenith, the title track from the classic My Name Is Tom EP, and 2 previously unreleased songs. The 2 new songs are "Your Mind Is Like Mine," (a Beach Boys/Jackie DeShannon influenced number written by singer Dennis Davison) and "Lonliest Person," (a song originally recorded by the Pretty Things on their legendary album S.F. Regret Is For Humans
In a brilliant marketing move, the solo version of TV Set spent 1997-2001 calling his project Idiot Box (not to be confused with the other 20 bands called Idiot Box). He appeared on local cable access’ Chic-A-Go-Go, was demo tape of the week on Q101’s local show, and played Fireside Bowl, Big Horse and Thurston’s. After a stint as bassist in Towers Open Fire from 2001-2002 (which played Empty Bottle, Nevin’s Live, and Beat Kitchen among others), he decided to return to the name TV Set and release new stuff, so here it is. Not retro, just guitar-based post punk, with drum machine and synth programming influenced by new wave, industrial and techno.-- $7.00
